"New Born" is a song by the English alternative rock band Muse from their second studio album Origin of Symmetry, released in 2001. It was featured as a single that same year and proved to be a commercial success, peaking at number 12 on the UK singles chart. The song was also featured on the Hullabaloo Live DVD. New Born is an alternative rock song written in the key of E minor. The song starts out at a relatively fast tempo of 147 bpm, and then increases pace during each verse. The melodic introduction features some modern minimalistic piano work in the style of composers such as Philip Glass. Muse are an English rock band from Teignmouth, Devon, formed in 1994. The band consists of school friends Matthew Bellamy (lead vocals, lead guitar, piano, keyboards, keytar), Christopher Wolstenholme (bass, vocals, keyboards, rhythm guitar, harmonica) and Dominic Howard (drums, percussion, synthesisers, sampling). Since the release of their 2006 album Black Holes and Revelations, keyboardist and percussionist Morgan Nicholls has performed live with the band. Muse are known for their energetic and extravagant live performances[2][3] and their fusion of many music genres, including space rock, progressive rock, alternative rock, heavy metal, classical music and electronica.
