"Miss You Nights" is a song written by Dave Townsend and made worldwide famous by Cliff Richard. Townsend wrote the song in 1974 while his girlfriend was away on holiday. The most commercially successful cover version is that of Westlife that was released in 2003 as a double A side in the United Kingdom as Tonight/Miss You Nights. Westlife were an Irish boy band formed in 1998 and disbanded in 2012. Originally signed by Simon Cowell and managed by Louis Walsh, the group's final line-up consisted of Nicky Byrne, Kian Egan, Mark Feehily and Shane Filan. Brian McFadden was a member from 1998 until his departure in 2004.
